This project was to have people send him pictures of themselves looking into the camera with a warm smile on their face and the word “self” written in red across their chest.
He then posted these photos on his social media pages so that others could see them. The goal of this project was to show how much we mean to ourselves and to emphasize the importance of self-love.

Brian Lanker
As seen in the above profile picture, one of his latest projects is creating photorealistic portraits that are designed to look like self-portraits or studies. He calls these “Study Portrait” photos because of this illusion.
His artistic talent comes from studying both figurative painting and photography. Figurative painting uses shapes, colors, and compositions to create pictures that tell stories, while photographic storytelling uses light as the main ingredient.
By incorporating both into his art, he is able to combine strong content with impressive aesthetics. This quality makes him well suited for creative portrait taking!
He has done work outside of just making beautiful faces, however. For example, some of his more recent images include landscapes and still life sets.
